The University of Florida College of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program again leads Florida, earning the No. 1 spot in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report
Best Colleges rankings. The BSN program has topped state rankings for five consecutive years, ranking No. 23 among public universities and No. 40 nationally.
This recognition highlights the college’s dedication to excellence in teaching, research and patient care, advancing nursing and health innovation globally.
“Being recognized as the top nursing program in Florida is more than an accolade — it is a promise fulfilled, a reflection of the spirit and sacrifice of our faculty and staff,
and the launching pad for what comes next,” said Shakira Henderson, PhD, DNP, MS, MPH, MBA, IBCLC, RNC-NIC, dean of the UF College of Nursing and chief nurse executive for UF Health. “This honor affirms our vision and purpose: to educate and empower nurse leaders who will break barriers, transform health care and uplift communities for generations to come.”
The ranking comes on the heels of record enrollment, expansion of leading-edge programs and partnerships that provide students with hands-on experiences across diverse clinical settings, preparing them to succeed in a competitive health care industry. The U.S. News BSN rankings, introduced in 2022, are based on peer-assessment surveys from leading academics and officials at nursing schools or departments.
