Elevating Excellence: UF Nursing Charts Bold Course for the Future
Dear Gator Nursing Community,
This year marks a bold new chapter for the UF College of Nursing as we advance Elevate 2029, our four-year strategic plan launched in January. I invite you to watch the launch event video to see how we are charting the course toward a future that reflects our highest ambitions.
Since the launch, there has been incredible momentum throughout the college. The entire community — faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends and partners — has embraced the vision of Elevate 2029 with remarkable enthusiasm. We are in the foundational phase of bringing our three strategic goals to life, and already, we’re seeing early signs of meaningful progress. This work is being met with collaboration, innovation and deep commitment at every level.
We are proud to share that the UF College of Nursing has been redesignated as a National League for Nursing Center of Excellence in Nursing Education for our leadership in pedagogy — a recognition that reflects the dedication of our faculty and the rigor of our academic programs. We’ve also welcomed a number of outstanding new faculty and staff, including several strategic leadership appointments across academic programs, departments, professional development, community capacity building and global engagement.
Our students’ achievements continue to set the bar high, with 98% NCLEX pass rates and 100% nurse practitioner certification pass rates. These outcomes speak volumes about the quality of education our students receive and the college’s ongoing commitment to preparing practice-ready, compassionate and impactful nurses.
As you read this inspiring issue of The Gator Nurse, themed “In Pursuit of the Future-Ready Nurse,” I hope you’ll take pride in the many ways the college is leading at the intersection of education, innovation and service. Our cover story highlights how we are preparing nurses to lead in a rapidly evolving health care landscape — from integrating AI and emerging technologies, to driving impactful research, to advancing health care through community involvement initiatives, and championing policy and advocacy through the voices of our students.
None of this progress would be possible without you — our alumni, friends and partners. Thank you for the many ways you continue to support the College of Nursing and uplift our mission. Your pride in the Gator Nurse legacy is the foundation on which we build every success. Whether you give your time, your resources or your voice, you are helping us shape a bright future where we all Care. Lead. Inspire. BOLDLY.
Go Gator Nurses!
