2021 Preceptors of the Year
Jessica Shotwell (BSN 2003, MSN 2005) was recognized as the UF College of Nursing Preceptor of the Year for her outstanding efforts in precepting both pediatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner students at Grace Pediatrics, a nurse-run clinic providing care to the rural and underserved populations of Lake City, Florida.
Jessica Kozlowski (BSN 2005, MSN 2008) was recognized as the UF College of Nursing Preceptor of the Year for her dedication to precepting both pediatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner students at Palms Medical Group in Trenton, Florida.
Mark Bagby, BSN, RN, AMB-BC (BSN 2018) was recently awarded ANCC National Board Certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing and was a recipient of the Veteran’s Health Administration Capitol Health Care Network “Coin of Excellence” for 2021.
Shari Costantini (BSN 1988) recently accepted a new position as Chief Executive Officer of Red Meters, a manufacturing company for industrial density meters. After her successful 18 year career with Avant Health Care Professionals, Shari is excited to expand her entrepreneurial skillset working in this new industry.

Carla Sanderson (PhD 1990) was recently selected as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
Kayla Elliott (BSN 2021) recently published a manuscript in SAGE journals online. The manuscript, “A Review of Psychosocial Protective and Risk Factors for the Mental Well-Being of Rural LGBTQ+ Adolescents” discusses the hardships LGBTQ+ adolescents face in everyday life.
Sarah White (BSN) applied skills learned in the UF College of Nursing EMBRACE program during her work as an intern at Emory University Hospital. She worked on a variety of projects for the health system, including a magnet reaccreditation for Emory Orthopedic and Spine Hospital and writing an abstract for the AONL conference on reverse mentorship.
