Catching up with UF College of Nursing alumni.
Tara Fernandez Bertulfo (BSN 1992, MSN 1996) was recognized as the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, Mercer University Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year for 2019-2020.
Nancy Shirey (MSN 1998) recently joined CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Obstetrics/Gynecology in Lexington as a certified nurse midwife. She has been practicing as a certified nurse midwife in the area for 18 years.
Marianne Mathewson-Chapman (PhD 1995) recently published an article, One Health and Veterans’ Post-deployment Health, in The Clinical Teacher, in collaboration with her daughter. Mathewson-Chapman is also the first woman to be promoted to Major General in the Army National Guard.
Linda Aiken (BSN 1964, MSN 1966) was designated a Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing, the academy’s highest honor. Aiken is among five who were recognized this year for the contributions they have made to the nursing profession, society and for the continuing impact of these contributions on health services nationally and throughout the world. Aiken is a renowned researcher and advocate whose pioneering work has transformed nursing by demonstrating the value of baccalaureate education and patient outcomes.
