In the spring, Heather Sarkis, APRN (BSN ‘04, MSN ‘09), was honored as a University of Florida Alumni Association 40 Under 40. Sarkis is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and a Fellow in Integrative Medicine who maintains her practice as a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Sarkis Family Psychiatry, a private practice in Gainesville. The 40 Under 40 ceremony recognizes 40 Gators under the age of 40 who have graduated from colleges across the UF campus. Recipients are selected annually by the Alumni Association’s awards committee and honored during Orange & Blue weekend festivities. Criteria for the award include being an alumnus of the university in good standing, under the age of 40 by April of that year, making a significant impact on their industry and having professional and/or civic accomplishments. Leaders in their profession and community, recipients possess an unmistakable tradition of achievement and a commitment to strengthening The Gator Nation.
