Snider-Irving Legacy Challenge
The Snider-Irving Legacy Challenge is both a celebration and lasting tribute to the college's bright future.
Dear Gator Nurses,
Gator Nursing has always been very near and dear to our hearts, and the overwhelming support of last fall’s Snider-Irving 60th Anniversary Giving Challenge showed us that you feel the same way. For more than 50 years, we have each had the honor of educating thousands of the best and brightest nurses, but we want our influence to continue for years to come. That is why we made the decision to have our estates benefit future generations through the Dorothy M. Smith Scholarship/Fellowship. There are many ways of supporting the college through a planned gift, and we would like to ask you to consider doing the same through the Snider-Irving Legacy Challenge.
The Snider-Irving Legacy Challenge is both a celebration of our many years at the College of Nursing and a lasting tribute to the college’s bright future. During this year-long challenge, we are asking alumni and friends to join the college’s Legacy Society by documenting a minimum planned gift of $10,000. Through this challenge, we hope to bring the total number of documented planned gifts from the current number of 35 to 50 — to represent the number of years we have each been with the college. As you consider financial and estate planning, please think about designating the College of Nursing as a beneficiary of your will or trust, life insurance or retirement plans. It is simple to do, and you can choose to have the college receive a set dollar amount or a percentage of your estate.
Documentation of your planned gift will allow the College of Nursing and the University of Florida Foundation to give you proper credit for your deferred commitment, ensure your gift is used according to your wishes, and count your commitment toward the College of Nursing’s and university’s comprehensive campaign goal.
Documenting our estate gift was incredibly meaningful and gratifying for us, as well as for those alumni and friends who have done the same. To kick start this Legacy Challenge, we are happy to announce that we have also decided to document an upgrade in our estates of $150,000 to benefit the scholarship we established. We hope others consider doing the same. Please do not hesitate to contact us or Anna Harper at 352-273-6360 or aemiller@ufl.edu if you have questions.
Thank you for your consideration! Go Gator Nurses!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jo Snider & Jodi Irving
