Cross Hamilton Receives Award from Local Gator Club
UF College of Nursing alumna Nancy Cross Hamilton, MSN, BSN, was selected to receive a Special Award for Outstanding Alumnus of UF from the Pinellas County Gator Club.
The award is given to alumni who have demonstrated exceptional support to UF, Pinellas County and its Gator Club and to his or her respective professions. Cross Hamilton accepted her award at a reception at the Feather Sounds Country Club in Clearwater and was introduced by UF College of Nursing Dean Kathleen Long.
Cross Hamilton received her BSN from UF in 1964 and later earned her MSN as a Pediatric Clinical Specialist from UF in 1966. She is one of the founding members of Sigma Theta Tau International, the UF chapter of the Nursing Honor Society. Until her retirement in 2000, Cross Hamilton taught the nursing care of children at St. Petersburg College. She has also served on both the UF Pinellas Regional Council and the College of Nursing Campaign Advisory Board since both of them were formed. Cross Hamilton and her husband gave a charitable remainder trust to the College of Nursing and a classroom was named in honor of their dedication to the continued education and support of both the faculty and students.
